2009 Life Without Lupus Gala
Over 500 guests gathered at the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation’s black tie event at Times Square’s New York Marriott Marquis on December 7th for the nation’s largest lupus fundraising event.
Leaders in health care, industry, advertising, and government joined in recognizing the honorees that helped to make it such an inspiring decade for people with lupus.

The Foundation is deeply indebted to Saatchi & Saatchi for continued pro bono commitment to shaping the words and visuals that so powerfully communicate the challenges and aspirations of the lupus cause. This includes the creations of the iconic orange “loop” for lupus awareness. '
2009 Distinguished Public Service Award — A Decade of Community Leadership

As the successful champion for a new nationwide lupus education medical school curriculum for physicians and community-based health care providers, Dr. Graham is leading the drive to dismantle racial disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of lupus. The Foundation has led the country in addressing gender and racial disparities in lupus for a decade.
