Team Life Without Lupus Completes TCS New York City Marathon 2014

Big thanks go to the twenty runners on Team Life Without Lupus® who successfully took on the challenge of completing 26.2 miles in the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 2nd. Stand-outs in bright orange, the Team is running lupus to the ground by raising awareness and funds for lupus research.

The Team has raised thousands to help fund novel research and services at the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation in New York City, as well as the national organization, the Lupus Research Institute. Staff and volunteers cheered on the Team along with supporting family and friends at several different locations in New York City throughout the race.

The highest Team Life Without Lupus fundraiser, Glenda Sundberg ran in honor of her young daughter who was diagnosed with lupus earlier this year.

“This means a lot to our family to help give back and support this cause. It is an opportunity to share with others our daughter’s new diagnosis and allow them to offer support,” said Glenda.

Having her daughter cheer for her on the sidelines of the race kept Glenda moving and motivated her all the way to the finish line.

We want to thank Glenda and all of our runners on Team Life Without Lupus®, as well as those who supported them on this journey!
